The See.Sense Icon light is like no other, its not your normal run of the mill bike light. Yes it lights up and lets you be seen, but it does have a trick up its sleeve... its Smart. So what is a Smart Light, well the See.Sense Icon reacts to where you are on the road (when paired with its app). It will flash brighter when you approach junctions, roundabouts and to approaching car headlights at night time. It also has a few more tricks that i will cover later on.

Attached to the Aero Seatpost of my DeRosa using there Aero Adapter - not curently included in the kit
The Icon has twin CREE LEDs which give it a seriously bright 190 lumen output and will keep running for up to 15 hours when set on flashing mode and its visible from up to 2km away. The light is powered by a non-removable battery and charges via Micro USB. Each time you switch the light off it lets you know its charge level with either a number of Green LED flashes or a Red flash to let you know there is less than 25% battery capacity left. Its compact in size at only 6.5cm x 3.5cm x 2.5cm and weighs under 64g including the mount. The mount is made from a nice soft rubber material which shapes nicely to your bike and also acts as a cover for the charging port. If you have an Aero Seatpost then you will need to purchase there Aero adapter for around £3.99.

The black dot on the front is the power button, hold to switch on/off and a single press to change between flashing and solid
To switch on the light just press the black button on the front of it for a few seconds. To change the mode between flashing and solid just give the button one short press, to switch the light off then just hold the button for a few seconds. But dont worry about forgetting to turn it off if you stop or a coffee, it will automatically turn itself off after 3 minutes of inactivity and switch itself on when it moves again.

Back of light with the Standard Mount in Place - this also covers the charging port to help with keeping it water sealed to IP67
Now the really Smart features come when you download the See.Sense app, which is available for both Android and Apple devices. When you open the app it searches for a nearby See.Sense light and your device pairs with it. From the app you can do the following:
* Rename the light - in case you have a few of them on other bikes
* Adjust the brightness of the light
* Change the Pattern between "Normal - Twin - Burst - Pulse".
* Switch the Light between "On - Flashing - Solid - Off".
* See the Battery Percentage
* Activate "Theft Mode", say for instance your in the coffee shop and someone goes near your bike, then a notification will pop up on your device if your within 100m
* Activate "Crash Mode", in the event of an accident the lights sensors will know you stopped abruptly and text a preset contact with "The SMS says “I have had a crash, my location is [longitude/latitude]”.
*Firmware updates or your light as new features are rolled out
*The ability to Pair two lights together, say you have both a front and rear See.Sense Icon. Once you pair them together then you only need to switch on one and the other will switch on automatically.
